Meet This Year’s Nominees For The Young Achievers Awards – Fashion Category 

The official unveiling of the 2018 nominees for Young Achievers Awards was held this evening at Serena Hotel Kampala. Young Achievers Awards is an annual event that celebrates youth contributing to the positive development of Uganda. Categories include; business, media & journalism, film & photography, performing arts, ICT, fashion and more.

The fashion category is one of our favourites, for obvious reasons. Last year’s winner was Abryanz Collection’s Brian Ahumuza.

This years nominees include Charles Mulumba, Anita Beryl, Christabel Kente, Juliana Nasasira and Kennedy Zziwa.

Charles Mulumba 

Mulumba is a fashion stylist under his own brand MulC ug. He creates and executes fashion concepts for brands and individuals.

Anita Beryl 

Anita Beryl is the creative director of Beryl Qouture, one of the most celebrated luxury fashion brands in Uganda. She was nominated in this category last year.

Christabel Kente 

Christabel Kente is a budding fashion designer. She was one of the finalists of Seed Show 2017 where she presented one of her creations on day 1 of Kampala Fashion Week.

Juliana Nasasira 

Nasasira is a renowned fashion designer under her own brand called KWESH. Her designs have been worn by stars such as  Lupita Nyongo.

Kennedy Zziwa

Zziwa is a hairstylist, arguably one of the best in Kampala. His Hair by Zziwa brand recently launched their own line of hair products. Zziwa doesn’t just provide hair styling services, he now mentors and trains up and coming hair stylists.

Who will take this award? We shall find out during a glamorous gala event slated to hold on 18th August at Serena Hotel Kampala.
