When we got into lockdown due to the ripple effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, many couples that were planning to get hitched were left distressed and confused. Indeed, their plans of having big events with lots of guests had to be suspended. But, that didn’t mean that without a big event, there would be no wedding. Thanks to the idea of Scientific Weddings, a number of them still went ahead to say their vows amidst these challenges, and they are happily married now.
Here is proof that love can’t be put on hold.

I did my makeup. (You’re kidding?). I am a low key makeup artist and I have done several looks on different brides and on myself as well. I however wanted to be a natural princess. As impossible as people think it is, I got up early before my Kasuze Katya to do my makeup which was the trickiest part of the day. Once I was done the rest was a walk over. I didn’t have any inspiration. I knew exactly what I wanted.

Budget was tight. We had a couple of disappointments from some service providers we had deposited our money with as we planned for the “Pentagon” wedding which strained our budget. We had to find new service providers which wasn’t easy because you know movements were restricted in a way making transport hard but we managed to make it happen.
Victor & Maldrine
Walking down the aisle and my grandpa handed me over to my husband😍. That’s a moment I can never forget. Then our vows, knowing I was finally getting married to the love of my life with God and our parents as witnesses. The smile on my moms face . The satisfactory smile of “we have made it. I’m so proud of you my baby girl”. My mom was so happy😃 then our photoshoot was so much fun. Our wedding night was magical too .😍🔥
Ronnie & Catherine
We started planning in February but our wedding launch happened in March. Then the country went into a lockdown so we had to put our preparations on hold as well as our wedding. Our first wedding date was 5th May which is also my (Ronnie) birthday but after the birthday celebrations, we came up with a new date which was 30th May. We only had 10 days to plan our scientific wedding.
We made changes on church, reception , decor food and guest list. The only service providers we kept were the photographer, baker and salon. We wanted to beat curfew time so we held the wedding close to home.

It’s not easy to get a Bishop to bless you and make it to your wedding, especially during such tough times. Having Bishop Luwalila at my event was a big deal to me. Also the cake time, I had always wanted my guests to have enough of the cake and indeed it happened.
