How To Throw A Birthday Party Like A Slay Queen

When it comes to celebrating that special day when you were born, not any half hearted chorus singing and a flimsy one tier cake will work for a slay queen. Things have to get bigger! better! Well thankfully, Nadia Matovu took us on a masterclass for how to throw the perfect birthday bash

The Location:

First things first, you can’t be around regular Kampala where you usually eat your money from. If borders are currently closed because of one reason or another, no problem! just go up country to one of the most expensive safari villas around and book it out for the weekend! no biggie!

The Squad:

Let’s face it, if you don’t have the squad to match your big day, why even try? Collect all the most beautiful girls with banging bodies and turn up! For Nadia’s day she was accompanied by fashionista friends like Lucy Smize, Mona Faces and Anitah Beryl among others.

The Outfits:

Why be a slay queen if you’re not going to slay? The outfits have to be on fleek, i’m talking custom made, flamboyant and most of all, glamourous! Nadia had fits made by designers like Anitah Beryl and Sham Tyra.

The Dress Code(s):

Not one but multiple dress codes are in order, there’s no need for one person overshining you or worse, making the photos look off. Mrs Matovu made sure to have her girls coordinated for her weekend event. Every phase of the stay had a theme and our eyes were watering.

The Private Crew:

There’s no need for one of your girlfriends to miss out in the group shots, or to spend half the time playing photographer. There’s always that one friend who always take blurry pictures, you know her. If you don’t know who that is in your squad I have bad news for you. Anyway, Nadia made sure to come through with a whole camera crew, so the clean photos and videos can tie together the whole thing. We can’t forget the privat DJ as well!

The Wig Collection:

You don’t expect to have one hairstyle throughout all the photos, do you? Nadia made sure to have enough 20+ inch wigs to make sure the slay was complete and fresh on each single lewk. Pick a leaf.

The Power Banks:

You have to make people you didn’t invite to feel every inch of FOMO, that’s for sure. The whole country was camping on Snapchat and Insta Stories to keep up with every bit of the weekend that just concluded, imagining themselves cheering to customised Moët.
