You know the scripture that says,“The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.” This is the only befitting description of Joshua Daniel Ssenyonga and Joanne Rhona Luwagga’s wedding which was held last weekend, only that, of course, heaven can’t be compared.
Joshua Daniel Ssenyonga, who was walked in by his parents Pastors Jackson and Eve Ssenyonga is a minister at Christian life Church, where they also exchanged their vows under the watch of Pastor Peter Dosek from Ohio. How often do you see a groom tear as his bride walks down the aisle? Well, Joshua couldn’t hold back his tears as Joanne walked down the aisle to Reulle’s I get to love you done by Kamanzi Rwengo accompanied by her parents Pastors Godfrey and Sylvia Luwagga of City Lord’s church.
Joanne and Joshua met through mutual friends at a birthday party in the USA where they both lived at the time
They hosted their guests to a grand scientific reception at Serena Kampala Hotel. Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda and the Princess Ssangalyambogo graced the event as well as many other pastors like pastor Serwadda and the couple’s friends from the US.
Many of us thought the reception was held at the church, blame it on Icandy and Adam Jjuuko aka Mr. Lighting who outdid themselves on the church décor and lighting, while Steph&steph Bridal Company and Fenon Events let flowers bloom at the reception.
The gown was a custom made Victorian style gown from Swarovski. It sat beautifully on her shoulders and the train was glorious. The changing gown was from Zuhair Murad and her shoes by Amina Muwadi. The mother of the bride’s reception dress was done by Anita Beryl of Beryl Qouture. Joshua wore a custom made Canali suit, Tom Ford belt and Louis Vuitton shoes.
Lush treats treated guests to a cake worthy of royalty. The essence of having cake both at church and reception was because some guests didn’t make it to the reception.
If you thought the church choir was glorious, DJ Selector Jay turned those decks upside down, while Brian Mulondo, the MC, did not disappoint either. Like the saying goes Bakisusiza! Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.
