@igc_fashion unveiled its NSAAMO Collection at the British Council (@eastafricaarts) Uganda Creative Showcase Programme, presenting a bold vision of Afro-futurism inspired by Uganda’s rich cultural heritage. The collection transforms traditional materials such as barkcloth (lubugo), cowrie shells, and buso into striking contemporary pieces that celebrate identity, creativity, and craftsmanship.

At the heart of NSAAMO is a commitment to sustainability. The collection features barkcloth-patched jackets and helmets made using Kitenge off-cuts sourced from fashion studios across Kampala, giving new life to textile waste while showcasing the beauty of conscious design.

More than a fashion collection, NSAAMO is a celebration of Uganda’s cultural legacy and the artisans who keep these traditions alive. By blending ancestral knowledge with modern fashion, IGC Fashion proves that the future of African fashion can be innovative, sustainable, and proudly rooted in heritage.
