He Left Me Stuck on The Road at 4am in The Night – Sheena & Aksam

Meeting

During my first year second semester at university, a friend invited me to go out with him at Laftaz Night Club. That was 2015, if I can be exact. I gladly accepted and turned up. He came along with his friend Aksam, who is now my husband.

Honestly, immediately I set my eyes on Aksam, I knew I knew he was the one. Anyway, he and I danced the night away and had so much fun. However, after the night out, these two gentlemen were so unkind to us. They didn’t bother dropping my friends and I back to the hostel. They literally left us on the road at 4am. We had to get bodas to get us back to the hostel. I found this a tad rude of such gentlemen.

We didn’t exchange contacts at all but after a month, I got a random call and guess who it was! it was Aksam. He reminded me who he was and we laughed about it. From then onwards we started talking. We officially began dating on 28th January, 2016.

Planning the Kukyala

He proposed to me during Ramathan in the presence of his friends. We planned our kukyala for two weeks. It was not tiresome since we were planning for just a few guests. The event was held during lockdown, so sourcing vendors was a trick. I’d call them and we would coordinate with my husband.
