Katera Africa, a Ugandan singer who was attending the 2017 The Uganda Music Awards wearing a feather-filled outfit she designed herself. Rita Ora, a British pop-star who was attending the 2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards wearing vintage Mugler from their spring 1997 collection.
Katera Africa
Bruce; I don’t know if Ms. Katera Africa had to skin a few birds to get all this feather, or it’s fake, but I’m all for it. The drama of her makeup, headwrap and the feather-filled top is exactly what I’d live for. Trouble ensues when I look at her skirt. I’m not a fan of it, Something plain white would have done a better job. She still looks like a piece of art though.
Hassan: I met her that evening, and I was blown away. This is how to make a statement. I agree with Bruce, the skirt doesn’t look as luxe as the top.
Rita Ora
Bruce: This looks like real flamingo feathers.. Does that scare me? No, it excites me. However, the pink satin makes for a boring dress considering the colour of the feathers.
Hassan: This is a vintage look from the spring 1997 Mugler collection, that alone excites me.
Verdict
Bruce: Sorry, Ms. Ora, this look is boring. I can barely see the feathers. Katera Africa takes this one.
Hassan: Katera Africa is my winner today. She brought style game and owned it in the process.
