Solomon and Mildred Met at a Primary School Get-together, Which She Had Crashed!

By  |

Solomon Lukenge, a Finance and administration professional, and Keziah Nabacwa Mildred, a banker, tied the knot on 12th September. They later hosted their friends and family to a wedding bash at Hotel Africana.

How they met

I was crashing a primary school get-together (I knew a few people there). On my way to the venue, his friend (who was a friend of mine too) called and asked where I was. We were literally in the same place (Ntinda) so I walk to the car they were in and Solomon was the one driving. He was going to drop us at the party and leave. But Bob (our friend) and I insisted he stayed. We spent the rest of the evening together, I was his date and we talked so much. I don’t think I should add anything else 🙈!

The Engagement

We were at his house having breakfast. We were supposed to have a photoshoot that day but our photographer bailed. So we were seated there joking about proposals and stuff. He kept teasing me that he was going to propose. And even fake proposed with my earring. Then he got up and went to the bedroom, only to return and kneel down behind me. And he’s like “let’s use this”. I turned and he had the ring out. I screamed and run. I was in too much shock and confused but happy and excited. It took me like 30 minutes to say yes 😂😂😂.

Planning the wedding

It was okay. God was so good throughout the whole process. Also, Solomon was the “groomzilla”!  He run around with most of the stuff and wanted everything perfect. He is such a perfectionist so I didn’t do much. Our wedding was originally meant for 500 guests. Then COVID-19 happened. And we had to cut it down to 10. Then we brought it up to 50 then finally to 100. The venue was also supposed to be at a garden but we ended up going to a hotel.

Our wedding meetings were the best. They were on whatsApp. They were so much fun and exciting. Our friends and family were so active. We raised funds and couldn’t believe it. We had so much support and love. Getting service providers wasn’t so hard. My sister had her wedding last year, so I already knew who to approach first. It wasn’t so hard narrowing down to the service providers we worked with.
