For a few days, the internet had one question: Did Wonder JR really get married? The congratulations came in, social media pages reposted the “wedding,” conversations took off online, and even articles began appearing about what seemed to be an unexpected union between Wonder JR and Bridget Katungi.
Then came the reveal: it was all part of STRAT BRIDAL’s launch of its new Dream Collection.
The playful campaign brought together Wonder JR, a popular Ugandan influencer and mental health activist, and Bridget Katungi, second runner-up at Miss Universe Uganda 2026, for a beautifully produced wedding celebration that had audiences guessing whether the couple had actually tied the knot.
The beautiful “wedding” was held at the soon-to-open Paradise Island Resort, Uganda’s only overwater villa resort, owned by the Ruparelia Group. The spectacular island setting provided the perfect backdrop for an incredibly cinematic and out-of-this-world wedding experience, creating imagery unlike anything previously seen in a Ugandan bridal campaign.
For STRAT BRIDAL, the idea was to introduce the Dream Collection in a way that went beyond the traditional bridal campaign — combining fashion, storytelling, influence and a little internet disruption to create a moment people would remember.
“We wanted to do something disruptive, unexpected and memorable,” says Tracy Nkwanzee, Founder of STRAT BRIDAL. “Bridal campaigns are naturally beautiful, but we wanted to take that beauty and give people a story they would actually talk about. Wonder JR may never need to wear one of our gowns, but his influence and the conversation around a possible wedding allowed us to introduce STRAT BRIDAL to an entirely new audience.”
The campaign also reflects STRAT BRIDAL’s belief that brands should not be afraid to experiment with how they market themselves — pushing creative boundaries, creating conversation and finding unexpected ways to connect with new audiences.
The Dream Collection features elegant silhouettes, intricate detailing and versatile bridal styles developed through years of working with and listening to brides.
The collection includes STRAT BRIDAL custom pieces alongside designs created through collaborations with international designers, including Nigeria’s Airvy Atelier.
STRAT BRIDAL is located at TMT Atrium, Bukoto, Level 1, offering a curated selection of bridal gowns from designers around the world alongside its own custom bridal creations.
The wedding may not have been real — but the gowns, the campaign and the Dream Collection certainly are.
Dream it. Wear it.
