The Bridge Club House was the place to be for the ultimate kickoff to SO UG Nyege Nyege parties!

Uganda Waragi teamed up with the Zonke Afro-house music collective to take over Jinja for an unforgettable poolside pre-Nyege Nyege experience right at the source of the Nile.

The party got off to a bright and early start at midday, with Mwami Kiyimba, 2Nyuke and Baddie Melo setting a smooth, infectious pace that carried the growing crowd into the evening. The order of the day was Lemon and Ginger, with every table featuring a bottle or two, alongside refreshing cocktails that were a favourite among guests in the cabanas.

For the very first time, Zonke featured Mayani, a dancer and DJ whose set was a masterclass in versatility, effortlessly transitioning from deep house sounds to popular Amapiano anthems.

By around 8 PM, House of Motion took over the dance floor for an energetic Yanos showdown. The dance interlude sent the crowd’s energy through the roof, with many abandoning their seats to form a roaring circle around the energetic dancers, decked out in colourful T-shirts.

While the dancers’ exit could have signalled a dip in energy, Chapart stepped up to the decks and kept the adrenaline pumping without missing a beat. His heavy 3-step set had the front row and die-hard house lovers singing along to massive hits like John Wick, Iplan and more. The vibe was nothing short of phenomenal.

As the night wore on, Kamali and Jenkins took over to close out the experience with soaring EDM sounds, keeping the energy alive until partygoers reluctantly began strolling away into the late night.

“Uganda Waragi and Zonke are a natural match,” said Roy Tumwizere, Uganda Waragi Brand Manager, during the sundowner experience.

“We are all about celebrating community and modern experiences, like the Afro-house movement that has carved out such a strong footing within our social scene. It is through these shared moments that we foster the spirit that binds us, and we definitely look forward to creating more experiences alongside Zonke and our consumers.”

Danze Edwin, Zonke’s Marketing and Partnerships Lead, echoed the sentiment.

“Today was simply a small taste of what Zonke is bringing to the SO UG stage at this year’s Nyege Nyege Festival.”
