Working Out Saved Cedric Musana’s Life!

By  |

When he felt like his life was falling apart, Cedric Musana, a 23-year-old budding fitness model, turned to exercise to pull himself from the brink.

I was going through a really dark time. I was badly depressed. All I did was stress eat. Food gave me comfort, everytime I ate something sweet, I felt some relief. A few hours later, it would kick back in. Then I’d crave something to eat again. A few months into it, I had shot to 109kgs. I didn’t realise that things were getting out of hand until my appearance began to stress me as well. I was unattractive, it was killing me. I had to do something about it.

Since I love dancing, my first resort was that. Dance made me feel alive, during a dance a routine, I would forget about food. I signed up to a dance studio where I would have classes. Later, I decided to go to the gym. I would do aerobics and zumba three times a week. When I lost most of the body fat, I began lifting weights. I also changed my diet; for breakfast I’d blend fruits with juice, then lunch I’d have a salad with chicken and abit of fruits, in between the day I’d have a light snack, then for dinner it would be vegetable rice and something like cabbages.

After 3 years of consistency, I had moved from 109 to 65kgs. During this experience I learned to take my health seriously and to put myself first. I’m now both a fitness instructor and a dancer based in Entebbe. I’m available to help anyone who might need some fitness boost. I’m also a budding fitness model, available for any modelling opportunities.
