Man Crush Monday

We’re Crushing on Brian Ahumuza, Founder of Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards

As a young child, Ahumuza was never particularly interested in fashion, although the creative bug was already with in. “I was always fascinated by how my mother put outfits together for us to wear,” he shared in an interview. “This kind of creativity is what caught my eye, even when I didn’t know that it was called fashion.”

He later discovered his passion which is clothes, putting them together and more clothes. Starting out as a fashion clothes collector, he opened his little outlet down town. Owing to this experience, he shortly graduated into a formidable fashion stylist with a client list that included Jose Chameleon. But that wasn’t enough, he dabbled into the business side of the fashion, becoming one of the top fashion entrepreneurs in Uganda.

What makes Ahumuza worth crushing on is how he has evolved from a young man passionate about fashion into this creative force behind a new movement of fashion and style not just in Uganda, but on the African continent in such a short span of time. Many young people grapple with finding relatable inspirational stories to take cues from. This is one of those.

Besides running Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards and Abryanz Collection, the 29-year-old style icon is tapping into the business potential of his own name. Recently he launched a t-shirt line, Abryanz Made in Uganda, which took Kampala scene by storm.
