The Menstrual Shebang Fashion show returns in second edition.

By  |

Just like the first edition, this year’s edition of the Menstrual Shebang Fashion show has returned and will happen on Menstrual Hygiene Day.

The whole world commemorates Menstrual Hygiene day on every May 28th. The Well being Foundation, an organization that advocates for Menstrual rights, Sexual reproductive Health and Rights will join forces again with Wuzi Africa to bring the second edition of the fashion show.

The first edition took place at MoTIV in the industrial area and this year again, the second edition will only change venue and head to Design Hub in the Industrial area. Shyaka Lwanyaaga who is the brains behind the project says that The Wellbeing Foundation with various partners has been running a two-year Creative Force project funded by the Swedish Institute between 2018 and 2020.

The project was targeting young people in Uganda with creative strategies to dismantle the social barriers for conversations about menstrual health and reproductive health and rights.

As a celebration of two years of creative activism for menstrual rights and SRHR, plus building a bridge between the worlds of the stories of the girls/women we work with, and the world of corporate companies, artists, leaders, and the civic world, it was the reason the Menstrual Shebang Fashion show was birthed.

This year again, the Fashion show will have showcase from seven different designers who will showcase outfits that tell Menstrual hygiene and Sexual Health and Reproductive rights stories.
