Covering Wonderland’s Summer 2023 issue, The Little Mermaid’s @hallebailey talks to co-star @jonahhauerking about the journey from the audition room to the big screen, and the profound impact the live-action remake is having in challenging the industry’s standards on representation. What took our attention though is Danny Kasirye, the photographer behind the stealing portrait of the actor.
Kasirye is a Ugandan-British photographer and filmmaker based between London and New York. He’s described as one with a unique perspective on fashion photography, animated by his constant search for non-conformity and authenticity. He took an interest in film and photography during his late teens which led to him switching from a degree in finance to pursue film studies.
Whilst sharpening his knowledge as a filmmaker at university, he picked up an interest in fashion photography. His background in film heavily influences his approach to photography, always bringing a sense of purity, joy, and beauty in its many forms. See more of Danny’s work HERE
