Stars Glimmer At Rihanna’s 5th Annual Diamond Ball

It was Black Excellence at its finest.

Singer, Designer, makeup guru and all round femme extraordinaire Rihanna brought out the Black Girl Magic last night at her Diamond Ball, the 5th of its kind, held again at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street venue. There were lots of stars in attendance, most of whom were from the music industry. The likes of DJ Khaled, Normani, A$AP Rocky, Pharell, all came out to support the bad gal as she glowed in a structured black and white velvet mermaid gown.

The charity event, was aimed at her Clara Lionel Foundation which benefits disadvantaged communities around the world, with healthcare, and education, among other programs. The night was heavily peppered with the empowerment of blackness and not just in what majority of the guests chose to wear.

Rapper Rapsody commenting to Billboard said, “Black women always step up when it’s our time. When nobody else does it, we make sure we do it. We don’t give up no matter how dark it gets, we know the power lies with us.” Rihanna also made a strong declaration for what she believes in, but we’ll let her say it herself.
