By  |

Bride: Sandra Nyakairu Kabanyoonza is a Digital marketer

Groom: David Trevor Kyeswa Luzinda is self Employed

Wedding venue: Kigo Gardens

Wedding Date: 07.07.2023

Back story:

Sandra: We met in 2017 at Bugolobi Bandali Rise, I was out with friends and so was he. We became really good friends. One thing I loved about him was his culinary skills. He would cook for me, and do the same for his family and friends. In 2020, during lockdown, things took a different turn. Because we were seeing each other often, the sudden separation brought us even closer. We began dating! As they say, “Distance makes the heart grow fonder”!

Engagement:

David: Initially, the plan was to propose to her on our anniversary, but I pushed it to her birthday. It was a private dinner at Serena Hotel because I know she hates public flashy things. I went down on one knee and proposed to her and she said YES!

Experience planning the wedding:

One word: Hectic… We, however, were blessed to work with amazing service providers that made things smooth. Truly, they were God’s gift to us.

Wedding Gown:

Sandra: At the beginning, I reached out to Alonuko and we had a chat about my gown. However, later, it dawned on me that spending 5000 pounds on a dress and 2000 pounds on a veil was not such a good idea. I then went on a such to bridal stores in Kampala, but I didn’t really like what they had. I wanted something timeless.

This is when I got to meet Fatumah Asha. I got to know Fatumah through a friend called Lisa. She always made for her beautiful dresses. I reached out to her, and we had our first meeting in November of 2022. I picked Inspiration for my gowns from different designs and merged them to make the pieces you saw. Fatumah is talented, creative, patient, and working with her was the most seamless experience ever.
