Post Pandemic Trend Predictions To Add To Your Closet Now!

By  |

The worst of the global pandemic is starting to look like a thing of the past, and what does that mean for fashion? Well, seeing as most people were relegated to staying home without a choice for most of last year, the style looked a lot like sweatpants-chic. Not anymore!

The fact that there was nowhere to go, nothing to do, most of the fashion loving lads and ladies have been bubbling with the opportunity to do what they do best, slay!

It’s not a rare phenomenon, actually. Whenever there is a universal issue that brings people down, we are talking tanking economies, health crises and war – fashion gets flamboyant in the aftermath. Heels get higher, jewelery gets flashier and life is generally more colorful. Some of the reason may be the need to feel better by looking good or simply escapism, fashion generally is expected to get a lot more interesting after this pandemic. We are starting to see it already, like during this years Academy Awards and that’s what we are here to talk about.

The trends in makeup, beauty, fashion and accessories that are about to be post covid staples are here to stay, and are expected to only get crazier! Remember when the obsession was 2 inch mules and 50 shades of beige? Distant history now!

Let’s get into what we can expect as we try to wiggle out of the global mess that has been the pandemic:

Platform Heels:

It has been mentioned before that this is a proven post-crisis trend which has come back. Women (and some men) are tired of dragging feet in house slippers and dad sneakers. They want sky high heels and we love to see it! This time around the block heel looks like it might be here to stay, but the heel is still super high!

Bold Colours:

We aren’t quite ready to go back to the neon era of 2018 – 19, but bright bold colors are definitely in. I’m talking bright reds, purples, green, yellow! All the colours of the rainbow in their most saturated forms! We love it! It was all over the red carpets and we were over here FAWNING!!

Even Bolder Prints:

Some combine bright colours with bold prints, but even if the colour is much more chill, the prints aren’t! We are talking cow print, zebra, polka dots, checkered and everything in between, prints are in, so cash in!

Nail Art:

While last year it was all about simplicity, pastels, nudes and the like – well. For those who still like the simpler styles, go ahead, but the rest of us are diving into the art of it all! Super long nails and the squiggly lines are a major hit so far, and if you have a nail guy who can do them in this our Kampala, plug them in the comments below!

Dramatic Sleeves:

This we saw both on the red carpet and also Instagram. The bolder the sleeve the better. We are talking too big to take up just personal space of one person – maybe they are a new mechanism for social distancing? Who can tell, all we know is we want more!

Head-turning Makeup:

When it comes to beating face, the nude lip and simple fox eye had our hearts for a moment. But now we have seen an increase in bold eyeliner, bright eye shadows and big lashes. The lips might still be a lot more simple, probably making space for masks that are still very much a part of our daily lives.
