Our Journey Has Been Something Of a Telenovela – Pablo & Karen

Comedian Pablo Kimuli and his wife Karen Hasahya Kimuli celebrated their 10th anniversary early this month. The couple tied the knot 10 years ago at Watoto Church. Just like every couple that had planned to hold their event during this challenging time, the Kimuli’s had a fair share of worries. Karen took to her Instagram to share how her dreams of holding this anniversary were almost shattered.

“The journey has been something of a telenovela 😂😂 but I’m grateful fo God who’s brought us this far! Ebenezer❤️!!

I’ve been a stage performer most of my life and so you’d think I love crowds but I’m an introvert🙈🙈. It was my dream, from the day we got married, that on our 10th anniversary we’d have our dream wedding because the first one was more for family and friends. The church service in 2010 had 350 people and the reception we’d planned for 400 had 750 people🙆🏽‍♀️🙆🏽‍♀️.

When lockdown and corona happened, I kissed my dreams goodbye and accepted that life had changed and some dreams were a thing of the past.

Having moved on, imagine my shock when hubby came to me with plans of an anniversary ‘do’ to be planned on short notice and scientifically! I just laughed in his face 😂😂😂 coz I figured it was one of his joking moments!

As the days drew closer to our anniversary he became more serious and God matched His faith by miraculously providing all we needed to pull it off! God put it on our hearts to request our friends for favours and they came through for us.

Suddenly we were at Protea Hotels by Marriott Naguru Skyz celebrating with vendors blessing us with a venue, gown, cake, decor, and makeup. The meals, accommodation, music, grooms entourage outfits among others where hugely discounted to suit our budget. To say that we are grateful would be an understatement.

Thank you everyone who sent us messages, posted, commented and still continue to wish us a happy 10th anniversary! Thank you for making our dreams come true!
