Now What? The Responsibilities of a Miss Uganda Title Holder

Since 1967, thousands of beautiful women have long wanted to win Miss Uganda and wear its most coveted crown. Only 10 queens have won the crown under the mentorship of Brenda Nanyonjo our March 2023 Cover star. For the winner, getting the crown plus the other prizes is just the beginning, the titleholder assumes great responsibility after winning the crown, heres a break down of what awaits the newly crowned Miss Uganda 2023 Hannah Karema:

The winner is prepped for a media tour where she makes multiple appearances at media outlets, networks, charitable organizations, sponsor events, etc. All the titleholders from the past up to the present spend their reign representing their platforms, raising awareness and funds for charities.

She also have the duty to represent  Uganda’s rich culture and beauty in the best way possible on international platforms.

She raises funds for several organizations and donates charities to NGOs across the country.

She is invited to “casting opportunities, movie premieres, fashion week, sporting events and career opportunities” during her reign. Past title holders Oliver Nakakande and Leah Kagasa did lots of runway jobs during New York fashion week. Sylvia Namutebi represented Uganda at other international pageant competitions besides Miss World.

She gets plenty of free merchandise (clothes and beauty products) provided by sponsors. Hanah (full name) received Toyota car upon receiving the crown on Saturday.

She goes on to work with the Miss Uganda brand which involves a lot of charity work across the country.

She joins the ‘Academy of Queens’ which is an association of all previous title winners. They jointly support all activities done by the Miss Uganda brand.

Her most important role is to represent Uganda at the Miss World contest. This year’s event is slated to hold this May in Dubai.
