Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Goodluck Jane is set to hold her first solo exhibition in East Africa from October 1 to October 7, 2021in Kampala at Afriart Gallery. Titled ‘Bloodline in Bold Print’, the exhibition marks a significant cultural exchange between the West and East African art scenes, showcasing Jane’s sophisticated mastery of mixed-media assemblage.
Goodluck Jane is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice seamlessly spans painting, drawing, and complex material construction. She is widely recognized for her powerful ability to weave multiple materials; including cut fabric silhouettes, intricate paper layers, and traditional drawing into visually dense narratives that explore identity, memory, and the human form.
Born into a family of painters and illustrators, Jane’s creative path was shaped early by an intimate relationship with craftsmanship and visual storytelling. This heritage, combined with her professional foundation in fashion design, brings a distinctive “material intelligence” to her work. In Jane’s hands, fabric functions as more than a surface; it is a language.
