Exclusive: Renowned Stylist Charles Mulumba Opens Doors to Mulc UG Fashion Styling Studio

While growing up, Charles Mulumba had little to no interest in fashion. “I wasn’t passionate about fashion at all, in fact, people that know me from way back are surprised to learn that I’m now a stylist,” he tells Satisfashion UG over the phone. The 24-year-old student of Business Administration at MUBS has since become a force to be reckoned with if his long list of styling creds and award nominations (he was nominated for a Young Achievers Award in 2018) are anything to go by. 

And he’s just getting started, just yesterday he opened doors to his plush styling studio located on Cham Towers. The new venture comes just in time as MULC UG, his brand takes form as he celebrates his fourth year in the business.

“MULC UG is taking shape to become one of the most sought after styling and design brands in the region having started the business in May of 2017,” he tells us. He has used the past many weeks during lockdown to research, learn, unlearn and evolve. Part of this included enrolling in a course in image consultation at a British fashion school. 

The result is what he comfortably refers to as, “a clear future for the brand which is innovative, dynamic and adaptable.” “We are a contemporary luxury fashion brand that offers premium services with a luxury touch,” he explains. The new studio offers that same experience, “but even for clients that’ll will receive MULC UG services away from it, the level of quality and attention to detail will be exactly the same. “I already have a team in place to offer support to clients wherever they are,” he adds. 

Design is another new offering Mulumba and his team are bringing to the table. “It’s impossible to do styling, and not catch the bug of design. We now offer bespoke design of suits, gowns and other pieces,” he shares. Other offers include celebrity styling, editorial styling, wedding styling and more. There seems to be something for everyone. 

MULC UG is located at Cham Towers 1st Floor, Suite 164. As part of MULC UG’s 4th anniversary celebrations this month, the brand is offering a 15% discount off all services and up-to 30% off on all pieces/items. This will run till the end of May.
