Hannah Karema could very well be on her way to make history as the first Miss Uganda alum to become Makerere University Guild President. As of March 2026, the former Miss Uganda 2023/24, Hannah Karema Tumukunde, has officially entered the race, marking a bold shift from the pageant stage to student leadership. While she has not yet secured the position, her candidacy is already drawing attention as a rare crossover into campus politics.

Running for the 2026/2027 guild elections, Karema is campaigning on a platform focused on student representation, improved tuition policies, government allowances, and stronger academic support for finalists. Her bid stands out in a space often seen as male-dominated, signaling a changing dynamic in university leadership and positioning her as a candidate to watch.
