Michelle Obama paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Marian Robinson, through her fashion choice during a special event in Chicago.

The former First Lady joined her husband, Barack Obama, at a stakeholder reception for the Obama Presidential Center. The event brought together supporters and partners ahead of the center’s highly anticipated opening.

For the occasion, Obama wore a custom skirt from Acne Studios’ Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection. The standout piece featured a portrait of her mother, Marian Robinson, printed on the front, making the outfit both personal and meaningful.

Styled by Meredith Koop, the look served as a touching tribute to Robinson, who passed away in 2024. Known for using fashion to tell stories and express important moments in her life, Obama chose a design that celebrated her mother’s memory and legacy.
