Met Gala attendees had to each cough a staggering 63 million Uganda shillings for a ticket

The price of glamour can be really high in Hollywood. The Met Gala being the most important event in fashion is not short of this. Alongside those high fashion gowns and designer suits we’ve been drooling at today was a cool ticket of $25,000 which each attendee had to buy prior. This obviously makes us forget about ever gracing the event which is one of the most sought after in the world. Maybe if we start earning that in a month or two!

The ticket price was hiked last year to that figure from $15,000 in pursuit of making it even more high fashion. (As if it wasn’t)! Anna Wintour Vogue’s editor in chief oversees the organising team and guest list. Vogue staffers help with the event planning and this has been so since 1995 when she took over this responsibility.

This is the premier red carpet event reported to be the Oscars of fashion (red carpet wise)! Last year’s event raised a cool $9,000,000. Proceedings from it are channeled into developing the Costume of Art institute.

This year’s event which was on last evening was not short of glamour and high fashion. Some of the most powerful personalities in the entertainment business walked down the red carpet in designs by some of fashion’s biggest names.

Some of the best dressed included Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, Karolina Kurkova, Dita Von Teese, Victoria Beckham and Gisele Bundchen among others.
