Meet Hilda Kabushenga Kragha, The CEO of Jobberman Nigeria!

By  |

Hilda Kabushenga Kragha is the Chief Executive officer of Jobberman Nigeria, an online career platform and job portal that lists candidate job applications for employers and helps connect people looking for jobs with potential employers.

The Ugandan executive has a law degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa and an MBA from the IESE Business School – University of Navarra, Spain. She has years of experience working with blue chip companies in South and Western Africa, Spain, Denmark and Qatar.

She was appointed to the position on the 10th of June 2019, following the exit of Ayodeji Adewunmi, one of the firm’s co-founders. She’s responsible for the growth and operations of the company in Nigeria.

Prior to this appointment, she was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company’s Lagos office, serving private and public sector clients primarily on strategy, human capital, talent management, change management and organisational behaviour.

In 2015, when she landed this job offer, she was asked to pick any of the firm’s three offices in Africa where she would like to work. She chose the Nigerian office so as to feel some adventure since according to her, she had been to East and South Africa, and knew those regions quite well.

“I remember when they asked me where I wanted to go, I thought of having spent time in East and South Africa but for West Africa I haven’t been there. So, I decided to go to the Nigerian office which was out of curiosity. But I have been blessed here as I met my husband, had a child and I’m pretty into the society now. But I still carry my pan africanness with me,” she shared in an interview.

Before that, she had several years of experience working with organisations such as the Central Bank of Uganda and global auditing firm, KPMG, where she excelled in human capacity development. After working for over 2 years with KPMG East Africa, she decided to enrol at the IESE Business School, University of Navarra. During her time at business school, she remained with KPMG in a consulting role.

In her current role as leader of the number one jobs site in Nigeria she’s bridging Nigeria’s skill gap.

Kragha considers herself Ugandan by birth and Nigerian by marriage. She’s married to Rume Kragha. They tied the knot in 2017 and have a son together.

She runs a blog called ‘Modern African Mother’, a platform she uses to share how she balances her many roles. She started the blog after “I left McKinsey last year mostly as a release for my motherhood frustrations and an avenue to express my creative side,” she shared to Instagram.

She’s passionate about people and helping them grow. She’s also passionate about Africa and all she represents, and about transformational ideas that will move Africa forward.
