MaXhosa Africa Makes History at Paris Fashion Week

MaXhosa Africa has made history at Paris Fashion Week, becoming the first South African brand to stage a full runway show on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar. Founded by designer Laduma Ngxokolo, the brand used the milestone to bring South African creativity and craftsmanship to one of the world’s biggest fashion stages.

For its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, MaXhosa Africa celebrated Xhosa heritage and African identity through bold knitwear, colourful patterns and modern silhouettes. Some of the pieces featured the names of African countries, while the collection was produced in South Africa using locally sourced wool, highlighting the craftsmanship behind the brand.
