According to a statement on his Instagram account, Andre Leon Talley, former creative director for Vogue and Fashion Icon, passed away at the age of 73 in New York. The fashion icon was a close confidant of Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Paloma Picasso, and Diane Von Furstenberg, among others, and his bylines appeared in magazines such as Vanity Fair, HG, Interview, and Ebony, among others.
He is also known to have written books such as Valentino, At the Emperor’s Table, Cartier Panthere, A Memoir, and others, and through his works, his presence in the fashion industry was felt.
Talley’s death comes months after the creative designer of Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh, passed on.
