Lagosian Brand Carl Andrews Presents ‘The Vice Versa SS18 Collection’

This 90s inspired collection is a product of the Carl Andrews brand. The aim of this brand is to infuse unique urban features in mainstream fashion. Unlike the debut collection, the Vice Versa Collection is one which embraces both sexes as its pieces are androgynous. Being the brand’s second collection released, it is a fresh and different expression of urban contemporary fashion emerging in Nigeria.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection was showcased at the Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week back in August. The brand’s decision to name its sophomore project ‘Vice Versa’ is a canny move pinpointing that it is a unisex collection. The collection is an amalgam of urban and formal allure.

For this collection, Carl Eze, the Creative Director chose to bring to the scene the broken barriers in Nigerian fashion that restricted a man or woman from wearing different pieces based on the colour or style in which it was sown. In this collection, the models are basked in laced pieces and retro-coloured ensembles. Another highlight of the collection is the cool touch of urban prints in contemporary styles thus sustaining traditional designs for the generations that is most familiar with modern wears.
