Kampala Fashion Week 2016 – Day 1 Highlights

Kampala Fashion Week kicked off last evening with a collective fashion show of 10 creations made by 10 young designers. This was the grand finale of the seed show, which is a fashion project designed by US Mission Kampala in collaboration with Kas Wear under the mentorship of Ras Kasozi to nurture new talent. The designers have gone through weeks of intensive training and mentor-ship.

The criteria for designers selection includes a review of their designing skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Specifically looking at each designer’s ability to create brilliance, originality and exceptional quality from their inspiration through to the final fashion show and introduction to the marketplace.

The 10 designers included:

8: Munyagwa Keneth Simon

10: Semanda Chales Brown

Semanda Charles Brown emerged winner.
