Tyra Banks is back, gracing the cover of Essence magazine’s March/April Beauty Issue. As the creator of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM), she helped shape the fashion industry, but the show has faced backlash for its tough challenges and the way contestants were treated. Many former hopefuls have spoken out, revealing that despite giving their all, few found lasting success in fashion.
Now, Tyra is addressing the criticism. “There’s so many things we would change. “But at the time, you’re operating with the information that you have on a show that is hugely popular. So, we’re all experiencing this together.” she tells Essence, acknowledging the show’s missteps. While her influence is undeniable, she’s using this moment to reflect, grow, and redefine beauty on her own terms.
