It Was A Black Wedding For Mshona’s SS2020 Collection

By  |

The first audible gasps of the night came from this collection, because of the dreamy black dressed. The first look was a strong gold cape that set the tone of Greek goddess vibe that flowed through the collection.

The headpieces in the collection were screaming Aphrodite to us as the different looks were peppered with black, white and gold looks. The lace gloves added an extra layer of femininity to it all and the flower applique on the soft floaty fabric had some of us (some of us is me. I am some) in a dream state.

When we caught up with Alice Atuheire, the designer behind Mshona, she said the collection was, “A bit of bridal, but playful and cheeky. I love black; we are African, so it was fitting. Gold is just like tip of the icing for me. Tulle is soft and flowy so it was my reason for picking it.” and yes. On so many levels yes. One of the night’s favourites.
