How They Met
Trevor and Amanda’s story began way back in Senior One. They were classmates, shared the same stream, and occasionally ended up sitting next to each other—completely unaware that destiny was already at work.
Their earliest memorable interaction? Amanda calling Trevor out for munching on G-nuts in class. Trevor wasn’t trying to show off his snacking skills, but that playful reprimand sparked a rivalry-turned-friendship that would later become the foundation of their love story.

Fast forward a few years, and Trevor finally gathered the courage to ask Amanda to be his prom date. That night marked the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. They became inseparable, and Trevor quickly realized he had hit the jackpot—not just with Amanda’s friendship but also with her incredible meals. Let’s just say her culinary skills had him living his best cereal-spiced life!
Life, however, had other plans. Amanda joined Makerere University Business School, while Trevor moved to Kenya to study at Strathmore University. Suddenly, they were separated by hundreds of kilometers. But distance wasn’t going to get in their way. Phone calls became longer, texts grew sweeter, and somewhere in those late-night chats, they realized their bond had deepened into something truly special.
By the second semester of Amanda’s first year, they officially started dating. From then on, things moved fast—almost like a rollercoaster.

Amanda’s mom, a strict and formidable guardian, made things interesting. Holidays in Kabale became the norm, and sneaking in time together became an art form. Eventually, Amanda completed her studies, while Trevor had one more year to go in Kenya.
Then came COVID-19, one of the hardest periods in their relationship. With travel restrictions in place, Trevor was stuck in Kenya, homesick, while Amanda was in Uganda, missing him terribly. They couldn’t see each other, and the distance felt heavier than ever.
After COVID, life slowly returned to normal. Amanda had fully settled into her job, and their communication remained strong, though she only spoke to Trevor’s mom occasionally.

In March 2023, Trevor took Amanda to Onomo for what would become their first official date. They had gone on dates before, but this time was different. Unlike their past conversations, where they fantasized about the future (“We’ll have a house with a coffee machine that sells coffee by itself!”), this date sparked real discussions about what lay ahead.
In February 2024, they celebrated Trevor’s birthday together. Then in March, he brought up the idea of moving in together. Both were still living at home, so it was a tricky decision. Amanda had to ask her mom, a strict woman who had once sent her to Kabale just for seeing someone!

To Amanda’s surprise, her mom was incredibly supportive. Trevor’s mom was just as involved. When they started house hunting, both their mothers helped—video calling, making lists of essentials like hospitals and nearby shops, and guiding them through the entire process.

On March 24, 2023, they officially moved in together, excited to start this new chapter of their journey. Their love story took another significant step on November 26, 2023, when Trevor made his official visit to Amanda’s home, cementing their commitment to each other.

The Proposal
Trevor’s proposal was anything but conventional—just like our love story. We’ve never done things the way people expect, only what truly makes us happy.
It happened on December 23rd, a date that holds deep meaning for me. Not only is it the day we got married, but it’s also my younger brother’s birthday, and I share a very special connection with him. That year, December 23rd fell on a Sunday.

I was fast asleep when I suddenly felt a presence in front of me. You know that feeling when you just sense someone is there? I opened my eyes, and there he was—standing right in front of me, holding the most beautiful ring. Now, I’m no expert on big stones, and this wasn’t one of those giant, flashy rings. But it was stunning, and I couldn’t wait to wear it. Except… it was a size too small.
We had to take it for resizing, but unfortunately, it got ruined in the process. That’s when Trevor, ever the problem-solver, simply said, “You know what? Just come and pick the ring you want.” So I did. I chose an infinity ring with a stone because, to me, our love is forever.

Introduction

Planning our introduction was no small task—especially coming from a family of very particular people. But we had a clear roadmap from the time of the Kugambo Obugyenyi so by the time December rolled in, our dates were already set. The planning process itself was quite smooth.

Since we have a large family in Kampala, hosting the event in the village wasn’t an option. Our Kampala home wasn’t big enough for the guest list, and my mom, being the social butterfly she is, had a lot of people to invite. So, we opted for a venue nearby—Nyosa Gardens, located along Kigo Road.

I knew from the start what I wanted: a modern rustic theme with shades of brown. That set the tone for everything—from décor to outfits.

Wedding
The entire planning process was so, so smooth—almost unbelievably so. We had an incredible amount of support, more than we could have ever imagined. Trevor was particular about two key aspects of the wedding planning: food and music. For the catering, his mother, an exceptional chef and owner of Ever Best Nyama Ya Box Restaurant, took charge, ensuring that the meals were nothing short of perfect. When it came to music, Trevor wanted only the best, so they chose Silk Events, and the DJ was DeeJay Bugy.

The wedding décor followed an elegant emerald, green and white theme, creating a fresh and timeless ambiance. They used the same décor person who had worked on their previous functions, ensuring consistency in style and execution.

With these details in place and the overwhelming support from family and friends, everything fell seamlessly into place, making their big day truly unforgettable. By the time the wedding day arrived, we were in awe of how everything had come together perfectly. Every detail we had envisioned was covered, and all our dreams for the big day became a reality.
It was beautiful, seamless, and filled with love. Well… except for one thing—it rained the whole day! Oh my God, it rained! But even that couldn’t take away from how magical the day was.
The Wedding Gown
Choosing my bridal gown was one of the most hectic parts of wedding planning. Every time I got back home, I would tell Trevor, “You know what, guy? I’ve never felt so insecure about my body until I started trying on gowns.”
I visited Strat Bridal—they didn’t have my size. Then I tried Fashion Episode, and still, no luck. The gowns available for hire had to be ordered in, and I had to pay upfront before even seeing them in person. I kept thinking, “What if it arrives and I don’t like it?” The entire process was exhausting.

One day, while walking downtown, a friend suggested I check out Bridal World. I went in, tried on a few gowns, but none felt right. Then, I spotted the one. I didn’t try it on. I just saw it, fell in love, and paid for it.
Since it wasn’t available in my size at the time, they reassured me they would bring in the same gown in my exact fit. A few weeks later, I got the call: “Your gown has arrived.” When I tried it on, it was perfect—it fit like a glove. No alterations were needed. It was as if it had been made just for me.
For my bridal look, I customized a few special details to make it uniquely mine. I chose an incredibly long veil, fulfilling my dream of that dramatic, flowing touch. To add a touch of elegance, I incorporated a beautiful bow, and of course, no bride would be complete without a tiara.
The Wedding Theme & Colors

For our theme, we wanted something that felt natural and timeless. Initially, we had chosen a rustic theme for our introduction, so for the wedding, we leaned into nature-inspired elements.
Green became a dominant color—not only because of the nature theme but also because it’s Trevor’s favorite color. That made the choice feel even more personal and meaningful.
Service Providers
One of the most special aspects of our wedding planning was the relationships we had with our service providers. We kept the same team across most of our functions because working with them was easy and seamless. But more than that, the foundation was friendship.

Faith from Mona Faces, my makeup artist, is a personal friend. With friends as service providers, communication was natural and effortless. We understood each other, and if any challenges arose, we handled them with mutual respect. The same applied to our photographers—we even had dinner with them to discuss our vision. They gave us honest feedback about what would work best, and in the end, we added another talented photographer, Buskago. His unique eye for raw, unfiltered moments brought an extra layer of authenticity to our wedding memories.
We had two photographers: Century Photography and Buskago. Our hairstylist, Shami, is also a friend—we go to the gym together. Because of this trust, we didn’t even need trials for hair or makeup. Everything was set, and it all worked out beautifully.
For anyone planning a wedding, I’d highly recommend choosing service providers you can build a relationship with. Finding that middle ground and understanding each other makes the entire process smoother and more enjoyable.
