The First Time Cedrick Texted Me I Blocked Him – Diane

By  |

Groom: Mutekanga Cedrick

Bride: Diane Nabimanya

My husband is a businessman who deals in furniture, and I’m a show host and show producer on NBS TV ( NBS AGRIBUSINESS) and SANYUKA TV ( SHETALK). I also produce the WARDROBE show on SANYUKA TV.

Wedding Date: 7th Jan 2023

Reception venue: Protea kololo

Back story

We met through a mutual friend called Daniel Sekyanzi.  Daniel intimated to me that a friend of his had chanced upon a photo of me and liked me. I was still at campus, UCU Mukono at the time. I knew Kampala men for being dishonest, so I wasn’t interested initially. He finally shared my number with Cedrick who texted me right away. Well, guess what I did – I blocked him immediately.

Several months later, he texted me using his other number requesting that we meet at KFC Lugogo. I wasn’t in a rush, so I decided to stop and meet him. He asked me to order for a twirl while I waited **‍♀️. The twirl was 2000 ugx can you imagine *. I was disgusted. Anyway, he came, we talked and immediately connected.

We were total opposites. He was honest, calm, collected and humble. I liked that so much. Most of the guys I had met would try hard to impress and that was always a turn-off. He was real! I was blown away by that character. From that day on, the rest is history like they say.

Proposal:

He proposed to me in our bedroom *, I was pregnant with our daughter, and had terrible morning sickness. I couldn’t go anywhere. It was simple and I loved it.

Wedding Planning:

We are both are very particular people, we want our things our way. So we planned our wedding ourselves. It was challenging though. 3 days before our wedding, we found out that Protea had given out the venue to another wedding on Friday the 6th yet our decorator wanted to start our decoration by Wednesday. It was too late to change the venue, we were very sad but she had just a few hours to put our decor together. Something she wanted to do for 3 days. We still appreciate her calmness towards the whole situation and the hard work she put in.

Wedding Gown & Changing Dress:

I don’t like huge and heavy gowns ( ball gowns). I have always wanted a simple, mermaid gown. So, that’s what I went for. Very simple, something I could move in and dance in well.

The changing dress had the same design, but with pearls. I love pearls. I wanted my gown to have pearls too but I was told it would be monotonous. I wanted something simple but elegant.

Theme Colors:

Our theme colors were white and peach. I love that color combination, it’s simple and elegant. And you can’t go wrong with it.

Service Providers:

We worked with Palette Events for our decor because she is good at what she does, and we have also worked closely with her on different events. Plus, she is friends with the husband.

Kembabazi Catering supplies food at the office, and they have never gone wrong with their food. Plus, they have been in business for long, and yes, they didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing!

Faith Juice is my friend from church and she always supplies juice at all our events. So, I trusted her services.

Simply cocktails are always my go-to for cocktails.

Kalyn Atwo made my wedding gown.  A friend of mine recommended her.

Hers Uganda made my traditional wedding dress so I trusted them with my changing dress.

Sean Mbajja is a ‘hair god’. I couldn’t trust anyone else.

Shillat Makeup did makeup for my pre-wedding shoot and I loved her work so I decided to work with her for my big day.

Chris Photography always took my traditional mikolo pics, I loved them. So, I hired him again.
