Fille Tries to be Sexy in New Music Video, Fails Miserably

Fille is one of those artistes whose vocal prowess is undeniable. She has managed to sweep us off our feet with catchy tunes such as ‘Double Trouble’, ‘Mbeela Eno’ and her debut hit ‘Got No Money’, thanks to her prized asset ‘her voice’. Nothing else! Over the course of her career, she has proved to be the risk-taking type, case in point being her concert which held early this year amidst the untimely demise of Mowzey Radio. The concert was held during the same weekend as Spice Diana’s, something that takes lots of bravely to pull off.

As per her new music video ‘Sabula’, it seems looking sexy is her latest risk-taking attempt. However, judging by the project, looking sultry and sexy isn’t exactly her forte. A complete disaster, if it’s put plainly!

The video opens with the singer on the steering wheel of a Jeep with her cohorts, a bevy of slay queens cheering her on in the background. She’s wearing what looks like a Chanel mini-cape and strappy thigh-high boots. This is a wide swatch from her usually ‘normcore’ personal style. Shortly after, disaster ensues when she appears clad in a white bra stop, fishnet leggings creeping up her midriff and down through her ‘savagely ripped’ jeans. She’s gyrating sexily with a swam of male dancers all over her.

The result, if I can put it simply, is a ‘not so hot mess’ or plainly, a complete disaster. The song is catchy, with all the vibe you need to get off your seat to dance, but her attempt at looking sultry in the video ruins it all. There are many ways to look sexy, her choice of clothing is not one of them, at least for her. It works for Sheebah every day though. Also, the raunchy moves that evidently strained her ‘not so perfect’ midriff didn’t save the situation.

We love you Fille and love this song even more, but the video was a complete disaster. This sexy thing just failed miserably on you.

As part of the project, she had a photoshoot to unveil her new ‘bad girl’ image. Some of these photos were shared on our Facebook last month and the responses were mixed.
