Eco Fashion Week Africa kicked off its highly anticipated third season at The Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa in Nakasero, Kampala, setting the tone for a week dedicated to planet-positive fashion and circular design. Day 1 brought together sustainability advocates, designers, and fashion lovers for an inspiring showcase that blended creativity with conscience. Ugandan designers took to the runway, presenting stunning collections made entirely from upcycled, pre-loved, and remade pieces, proving that style and sustainability can coexist beautifully.
As Africa’s most planet-positive fashion week, EFWA continues to lead the way with its “No New Clothes” movement, placing the environment at the heart of fashion. The event goes beyond the runway, incorporating workshops, clean-up drives, panel discussions, and a conscious market to promote waste prevention, behavioral change, and circular economy principles. Day 1 reminded everyone that eco-fashion isn’t just a trend, it’s a movement towards a just, sustainable, and zero-waste future for African fashion.
