Nabukenya Allen, winner of Bayimba fashion show presented her capsule collection on day 2 of Kampala fashion week 2017. As an ethical fashion designer and visual artist, Nabukenya thought industrial waste is a huge danger to the environment. She recycled bike tyres to create accessories such as fanny packs and back packs. However, what stood out most were the elf shoes and fanny packs. Elf shoes are getting a lot of buzz on the international fashion scene. It was interesting seeing them on the runway here in Kampala. They also showed small fanny packs emblazoned with the Uganda flag.
Nabukenya’s fashion brand is called Njola Impressions.
