By  |

Couple: Brian and Gloria Atuhaire

Professions: Brian, an electrical engineer, and Gloria, a nutritionist

Wedding Date: April 11, 2024

Reception Venue: Botanical Gardens Entebbe

How We Met:

We met at our church, UCC Makerere, on January 2, 2022. I found her seated beside the church canteen, waiting for our church’s third service with her mask on. Despite that, she looked beautiful and gorgeous, so I was compelled to say hello to her. Thankfully, she didn’t resent me, so I took the next step of asking her to unmask herself. To my delight, she was like a human angel, and the rest is history.

Engagement:

One day, I asked her to accompany me for ministry, as I’m a gospel artist. Later in the evening, I took her for a cup of coffee at Georgina Gardens. There, I confessed my feelings towards her and told her she had no choice but to say yes because she would never find a man like me anywhere else. And here we are.

Planning the Wedding:

Planning the wedding was a muscle-building experience, especially when we didn’t have a penny and were starting from scratch. It required a lot of faith in God, trust, and patience between the two of us. The traditional dowry payment was particularly challenging since I was bargaining for a precious gift with Western roots. It also required a broadened social capital and mutual understanding of both our tastes and future prospects.

Wedding Gown:

Initially, I wanted a mermaid gown, but my designer advised me to opt for a simple Cinderella gown considering my size for the best results. I ended up choosing a piece that caught my eye.

Decor:

Our theme color was white, chosen after concluding what our dream wedding would be like. We both wanted a beach wedding reception, and we thought white would complement it perfectly.
