Anita Beryl is East Africa’s Designer of The Year

Anita Beryl was named East Africa’s Designer of the year last evening at a glitzy event in Dar es Salaam held to conclude Swahili Fashion Week. Other designers in the category included Haute Baso from Rwanda, Kikoromeo from Kenya, Marie Ange Kundusenge from Burundi and Winnie G from South Sudan.

The Ugandan couturier took to her Instagram to say “Thank you God”.

Swahili Fashion Week is the biggest and largest annual fashion event in the whole of East and Central Africa providing a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili speaking countries and beyond to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with clientele and the international fashion industry.
