Ugandan fashion designer Anita Beryl has tied the knot with financial consultant Richard Ekoot in a romantic wedding ceremony in Como, Italy. The couple’s destination wedding marks another milestone in their relationship, following their traditional Ankole marriage rites earlier this year. Images from the celebration show Beryl in pink bridal gown and long pink veil, with Ekoot dressed in a darker tone suit, against a scenic Italian backdrop.
The couple’s journey to marriage included an intimate traditional introduction ceremony in January at Beryl’s family home in Masheeruka, Sheema District. Known as kugamba obugyenyi, the ceremony brought together family members, elders and close friends, with Beryl designing outfits inspired by Ankole cultural elements. Ekoot also captured attention when he surprised her with a pink Range Rover during the celebrations.
