A ‘Slay Queen’ Musical Is Happening 

If you thought this ‘slay thing’ ended in 2017, you were wrong. Just last month, a slay festival happened in Lagos and was attended by all the coolest people on the continent. Now a ‘Slay Queen’ musical is happening here in in Kampala.

According to the team behind this project, ‘Slay Queens of Africa‘ is a satirical musical following the lives of slay queen in Lagos Nigeria, Harare Zimbabwe, Nairobi Kenya and Kampala Uganda. “We take you through their lifestyle, drama, and hustle live on stage,” Debie Kagisha one of the stars in the musical shares.

Other stars include Lindah Nabasa, Rashidah Namulondo and more. The story was written by Nada, directed by Rehema Nanfuka and music by Kaz Kasozi. Costuming was done by renowned designer Kaijuka Abbas.

The play is slated to show from 14th to 15th April at The Square. Early bird tickets go for 30,000 Ugx and gate tickets 35,000 Ugx.
