Talk to any bridal designer, and the first thing they will tell you is that their customer wants more than just one beautiful wedding gown. Most brides are in search of the perfect second or third dress for the reception, something for the rehearsal dinner, the after-party, and the goodbye brunch on Sunday, too. And while many upstart bridal labels are pushing this idea of a full wedding wardrobe, Naeem Khan has been on the beat for a while. He’s always given his brides a multitude of silhouettes and separates to choose from, whether it’s a heavily beaded jumpsuit, a fringed minidress, or a voluminous ball gown. Khan has done it again for Fall 2019, only this time, there was less of his signature beading, fringe, and tulle. The offering was decidedly subtler, though there were still a couple of knockout pieces like a slinky gown embellished with tiny crystals and a lace jumpsuit with a corseted top, off-the-shoulder pouf sleeves, and detachable belted skirt. A sheer embroidered minidress stood out, too.
