How they met
Jeremiah: We first met in August 2015. We were introduced by Angel’s brother Gideon Mulinde, who happened to be my great friend along with her brother Emmanuel. She was quite stunning at first glance, and something about the first time our eyes locked, captivated and scared me so much all at the same time. So, I made it a point to avoid her as much as possible.
And, of course, her being my best friend’s sister made her a no go area for me as a matter of principle. Plus, she was still in school so I dared not to entertain the thought. A day or two after we met, the Lord, for the first time, spoke to me about my marriage destiny, and truth be told, I had my eyes on someone totally different at the time.
From then on, we kept bumping into each other because I was almost always with her brothers.
At the end of 2016, we had become good friends, and before I knew it we were inseparable. So, I had to choose between my principles and love. I guess we now know which of the two went with!
However, I took some time off to pray and make sure it was not just me but the will of God. And even when he would answer, I would go back and ask again because I didn’t want to go into this relationship unless its end goal was marriage. Also, because it had the potential of costing me my best friend.
Angel: Jeremy and I first met in 2015 at the prayer mountain in Seguku, where he had come to pray with my brother. We all met together to have a session of worship. At the time, he looked reserved and basically ignored me the whole time π€£π . In short, we barely spoke that day.
We met again in 2016. Now that’s when we actually became friends. It is then that I learnt that he was smart, funny, cool. But, still, we didn’t talk much because in August that year I went to the states with my brother. A lot happened then. I found out I was pregnant. I came back home months to the arrival of my new baby. You’d think he would be discouraged to date me then, not Jeremy! He became a friend, a companion and brought back my adventurous side. I don’t think I’ve ever told him that though.
In Nov. 2017, I realized I actually really liked him. And he might like me. It took this guy 7 months to confess his feelingsπ π. Yap, on May 3rd 2018.
I was scared to trust, let alone love. But this journey with you my love, the ups and downs great and not so great times, one thing is a constant, you’re my Personal Gift from God. Mi Amico (soulmate).
Engagement
Jeremiah: On 3rd May 2018, while I was seated in my office, I started to feel like if I didn’t tell her how I honestly felt, I’d miss the window for it. It felt like a matter of life and death, it’s impossible to fully describe how I felt that day. I immediately called her and asked to meet without giving any sort of explanation.
She made it worse by arriving almost 2 hours late, but I get it, it was really short notice. I was sweating profusely, and I honestly believe, that that single moment comes second only to the day I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and saviour as the most important moments of my life.
I later found out that she had also set for me an ultimatum with the Lord for that same day haha. She said YES, and today we are married!
Angel: Honestly, I don’t know! He asked, I don’t remember a word he said. All I could think of was… Omg, he looks amazing. Omg he wants us to get married. Like no jokes, for real. It’s happening. Like πππ₯Ίππ½ββοΈπ₯°ππ½.. so many emotions.π€£. And then we took pictures. That whole time was like so ….. Wuushh. So yeah.π
Planning the wedding
Jeremiah: My suits were custom made by Rafael Kasule. He’s among the best, if not the best designer in town. His designs have featured on a number of international runways. Once we had agreed on the theme of the wedding, being ‘Royalty’, I trusted him to deliver. I shared with Angel some of the ideas, she really was pivotal in creating the concept, yet I kept the details of the final design away from her so it would be a surprise.
One of the most memorable experiences was the shock on my bestman’s face, when he found out about design we had chosen for the suits. He could not fathom how we came up with the concept and I guess he ended up being more excited about it than I did.
Bumps: We failed to get some of the accessories that had to go with the suit like the swords and a few other details but even without them, we really nailed it.
Angel: Oh my Gosh, now this was God. Our events were so beautiful. The Lord simply sent angels in my mothers (Mummy Florence.N, Mummy Jolly.K, Mummy Norah, Mummy Jane, Pr. Agatha and Pr. Rose) My goodness, I can keep going on and never stop. Thank you so much. And our dear fathers, but mostly my sweet Papa Dr. John Mulinde, the greatest dad on planet earth. I’m so proud to be his daughter. If it wasn’t for all these people, I think we wouldn’t be here today. I’m eternally grateful!
About my gowns; initially, my plan was to wear a tailor-made gown. But, it delayed. A few days to the wedding, I was a bit worried, so, when I had a chat with one of my dear moms, Pr. Jessica Kayanja, she and papa, Pr. Robert offered to find me gowns. The gowns came as beautiful gifts from them to us. That story, I’ll keep for myself.π. I think it’s safe to say I loved them so much.
