We Can’t Get Zozibini Tunzi’s Miss Universe Gown Off Our Minds

By  |

Over the weekend, Zozibini Tunzi handed over the Miss Universe crown to Miss Mexico’s Andrea Meza. But while the new queen was being instated, Zozi stole fashionista’s hearts everywhere with her unique beaded gown.

This gown was made mostly out of beads, with an undeniable South African feel to it. The black and white ensemble features a Ndebele print down the front and back, with strong shoulder pads and fringe detail that is a hint of sleeve. The dress was absolutely stunning, with a hint of sexy, as it draped over her body so perfectly, and while it was full length, showed hints of skin all through. No one could look away!

Another fabulous detail was her choosing a traditional head-wrap instead of the Miss Universe crown to adorn herself with, a nod to her roots. It was a perfect viral moment that the internet is yet to recover from and we might still be fawning over this gown for some time to come.

The designer behind this magnificent creation was South Africa’s Biji – La Maison de Couture, who had designed a lot of her looks along her pageant journey – in fact, the fashion house was in charge of her crowning sparkly look!

This was a great tribute to her SA people who she represented well over the 2 year Miss Universe journey.
