This past May, Vogue launched #VogueOpenCasting, a global modeling initiative aimed at discovering new personalities that reflect the world we live in. Prospective models—with or without agency representation—were encouraged to send in their photos, and within three weeks Vogue received more than 60,000 submissions. The eight finalists who will be featured in forthcoming Vogue videos documenting the project—come from Accra and Marrakech, Tokyo and Paris, Los Angeles, Johannesburg, Henan province, and London.
Representing Africa we have Cynthia Machava from Johannesburg, South Africa, Rayan El-Mahmoud, from Accra, Ghana & Rania Benchegra from Marrakech, Morocco.
