Jessica Nabongo was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to Ugandan immigrants. She had her first international trip at an early age of six, where she traveled to London and Uganda. This tickled her curiosity to see the diverse cultures and people living beyond the borders of her country.
Nabongo has lived, worked and studied on four continents β North America (Detroit, New York City, and Washington DC, USA), Asia (Kusatsu, Japan), Europe (London, England and Rome, Italy), Africa (Dassa-Zoume, Benin) β earned a graduate degree from the London School of Economics, and visited all 195 countries of the world.
She documents her travels on her blog Catch Me If You Can, which is an absolute gem. If you’re a lover of traveling, or wish to be enticed to, this blog is everything you need to look at. She shares expert tips on where to go, what to do there, when and on what budget. She has been everywhere from Haiti, Peru, Kampala, Kigali, Nairobi, Djibouti, Marrakesh, Tokyo and many more.
And, if you haven’t fallen in love with her already, here’s a catch. In 2015 she spent 12 hours in Singapore just to party. You heard right. Just to party! See the action here.
She is officially the first black woman to travel the world and she posted her excited announcement on an Instagram post, from the picturesque island of Seychelles.
