Social Distancing
This is The Time To Make Some Radical Changes in Your Life!
Hello,
I greet you all in my PJs, literally that has been my home-working attire since lockdown. I believe most of you are reading this from the comfort of your homes as we’re all quarantined until this disease is wiped out or further government notice is given.
As scientists and doctors are trying to find a cure, this fatal disease is still spreading rapidly and killing many people. And as someone who believes in the thesis statement: ‘prevention is better than cure’, I urge that as civilized global citizens we all take full responsibility and follow the precautions given by our country’s leaders to lower the spread of the disease, and hopefully have it eradicated sooner so that we can have our lives back to normal.
We are in the Coronavirus pandemic crisis, and crisis breeds ‘Desperation’, because desperate times need desperate measures. But while we are in these times of uncertainty, we have to make a move, and in order to move, we must make some radical changes. Those changes need to be made now, not next week. This is not the time to be planning for your dream life. The changes you make now will have an impact on your life, career or business in the months to follow or years ahead. The Covid19 pandemic is either going to make or break you. How you’re going to come out of this situation will depend entirely on your mindset. In the midst of this confusion, frustration and chaos, your thoughts are what’s going to carry you through. Remember, the mind is made up of thoughts and your thoughts become action, so be mindful of what you think or pay attention to during this period of utter distraction. I would also like to accentuate that what matters the most during this situation is our mental health, everything else we do or plan should be beneath that.
Because we are not physically interacting with friends and colleagues anymore, there’s no need for the rat-race because things are moving in slow motion, we need to be still, calm and in the moment. I recently listened to Dr. Yetunde’s Ask Y Podcast episode: QT in quarantine she mentioned that this moment of stillness could be used as an opportunity to create quality time with our loved ones, a time to bond with our children, spouses, partners, friends….etc. I greatly agree with her, we have to use this time effectively. How about using this time to also learn a new course or skills that will benefit your business or career prospects so that when things get back to normal in the next few weeks or months you are on top of your game. The psychology of wanting the best is thinking differently, and we cannot be thinking as we were thinking before especially if we want to transform our lives. This is a perfect time to reflect and plan right with urgency and take immediate action if you want to see results. If you don’t take advantage of this period to change your life, you’re unlikely to change even in the future. You need to realise that this situation is not affecting one person, but all of us, businesses and the world at large, so we are all in this crisis together. The world has already changed and it’s going to change even after this, so you must act now.
