Records Fashion School Student Alice Among Wins a Two-Week Training Session at The Ecole Duperré in Paris

By  |

For the second consecutive year, the Embassy of France together with the Uganda Olympic Committee and with the support of over 37 sponsors organised a series of joyful, festive events to celebrate the longstanding, warm friendly relations between France and Uganda, through music, sports and cultural activities, tourism and environment expos, food and fashion, defence and security celebrations, among others.

The second edition of the France-Uganda friendship week of celebrations took place from Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th March 2018 on eight different locations in and around Kampala. The week climaxed on Saturday 24th March at the Kyadondo Rugby Club with a rugby match between the Uganda Rugby 7s and the French army rugby team, followed by a music concert featuring some prominent local and international artistes, including Jose Chameleon, Irene Ntale, Navio, Congoloko (DRC) and David Walters (France), among others.

As part of Uganda/France academic partnership, Ugandan fashion students from Records Fashion School and their French counterparts from École Duperré Paris made French designs using African material and vice-versa. The production was showcased during a catwalk show held at the French Ambassador’s Residence in Kampala on Tuesday 20th March, 2018. Uganda’s Paris-based fashion designer and artist Stella Atal was part of the team that showcased.
