In 1907 Winston Churchill, who was on safari in Uganda, was blown away, and in his book My African Journey (1908) he wrote:

“For magnificence, for variety of form and colour, for profusion of brilliant life — bird, insect, reptile, beast — for vast scale — Uganda is truly ‘the Pearl of Africa.’”

The combination of Black, Yellow and Red has never looked so beautiful! Creativity and patriotism fused as Ugandans across the world celebrated the country’s 61st Independence Day.
