Michaela Ewuraba Boakye-Collinson alias Michaela Coel is an actress, screenwriter, director, producer, singer, songwriter, poet and playwright featured on British GQ cover as she shared her experiences and views concerning Police brutality, #BlackLivesMatter and racism as she states;
“I have so many [experiences] that it brings me to tears to think about, so I don’t want to share them, because they’re painful. I also realise that while being very aware of the direct, aggressive forms of racial abuse, racial violence and even police questioning that I’ve had in my life with no criminal record – I’ve had great encounters with the police and bad encounters – when I think about the racial abuse that I experienced over the course of my life, I’m also understanding that everybody is deeply traumatised.”Â
The phenomenal actress Michaela also enlightened more about her latest show “I May Destroy You” on BBC and HBO a show she wrote, stars in it, co-directs along with Sam Miller as well as co-executive produced it.
