In a major step toward regional expansion, luxury fashion house Nella Stitches, founded by South Africa–based Nigerian designer Olubunmi Bolawa, is now officially stocked at Beymen Egypt, one of Cairo’s most prestigious luxury retailers. The partnership marks the brand’s first foray into North Africa and is a strategic move in its broader plan to grow across the MENA region, including upcoming entries into select boutiques in Morocco and additional locations within Egypt.

Nella Stitches has steadily built its reputation across the African continent since its founding in 2022. Known for its fusion of West African heritage and modern elegance, the brand has captured attention with meticulously crafted collections that elevate indigenous techniques into the luxury fashion space. Over the past two years, it has released celebrated collections such as “Heritage Revival,” which paid homage to traditional Nigerian agbada tailoring; “Ubuntu Luxe,” a minimalist capsule emphasizing sustainable South African cottons; “Noir Afrique,” which reimagined African eveningwear in deep indigo tones and Ghanaian batiks; and the most recent “Diaspora Echoes,” an artistic conversation between Nigerian motifs and South African embellishments. These collections have not only defined the brand’s distinct voice but have also earned it retail space in elite boutiques such as Dore Fashion and Surtee Group in South Africa, Vivo Fashion in Kenya, Bold in Africa in Uganda, and several high-end outlets in Nigeria and Ghana.

The listing with Beymen Egypt represents a new chapter in the brand’s trajectory. Beymen, a Turkish luxury retailer with a strong presence in Cairo, is known for its discerning curation of international fashion labels, offering premium clothing, accessories, and lifestyle goods. With a reputation for introducing exclusive designers to Egypt’s fashion-forward clientele, Beymen provides the ideal platform for Nella Stitches’ North African debut. Speaking about the partnership, Mohamed Saeed, Merchandising Manager at Beymen Egypt, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nella Stitches into the Beymen Egypt family. It brings a fresh, culturally rich perspective to luxury fashion perfectly aligned with our customers’ taste for international, design-led brands with authenticity and heritage.”

Founder and creative director Olubunmi Bolawa echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the symbolic significance of entering the Egyptian market. “Partnering with Beymen Egypt is a milestone in Nella Stitches’ journey. Cairo’s rich cultural legacy and discerning clientele offer the perfect stage to showcase our fusion of Afro-heritage and luxury craftsmanship. We anticipate deepening our presence in Egypt and Morocco and bringing African storytelling to new audiences across MENA,” she said.

The expansion comes at a time when African fashion brands are increasingly commanding attention in the global luxury market. The luxury fashion sector across Africa is valued at approximately $6.5 billion, with projections suggesting it could reach $11 billion by 2030. This growth is being driven by a rising middle and upper class, increased digital connectivity, and a growing appetite for locally inspired luxury. In Egypt alone, the luxury consumer base has expanded steadily year over year, with affluent millennials and Gen Z buyers accounting for a significant portion of spending. Across the continent, high-net-worth individuals are expected to grow by 45% between 2024 and 2030, making Africa one of the most promising emerging markets for premium goods. Furthermore, fashion-conscious consumers are showing increasing interest in craftsmanship, ethical production, and cultural authenticity qualities that Nella Stitches has woven into every piece since its inception.
